Madeline turned Eight!

This is me and Peter 8 years ago a few hours before we welcomed our first daughter into the world! It was a Saturday and I had been out hitting up some local garage sales for some last minute baby items when my contractions started getting really painful and regular. I knew that I'd be having a baby that day! I'd been having contractions for several weeks but these ones were different. I bought a darling little navy blue sailor dress with a white collar trimmed in red, size 18 months for $1 and then decided it was time to head home and shower and head to the hospital.

After getting all ready my contractions were still really regular but I was feeling ok so we decided to just hang out and wait for awhile. Peter hated waiting and finally convinced me to just go ahead and go to the hospital even though I was still feeling pretty good!

We got to the hospital and got settled in and when the nursed checked me she informed me I was already 7 cm dilated and 100% effaced! They immediately called the Doctor and got the bed ready for delivery. Three hours after getting home from the garage sale I was holding our sweet little Madeline in my arms! She was 7lb 10 oz and absolutely perfect!

Sweet Madeline woke up on her Eighth birthday to a SUPER loose tooth! She yanked it out and her first gift of her birthday was a new smile! :)

We made her some birthday pancakes and then got everyone ready for the day and met Grandma Ehat at the mall to get ears pierced. Madeline AND Grandma's first time getting earrings and both of them were very excited!

After getting her ears pierced Maddie wanted to go to In-N-Out for her birthday lunch.
Here is Madeline eating a birthday ice cream sundae

We had some of her friends over and we took them to get their nails done, then to get ice cream, and then to the gardens to take some fun pictures.

Here are all of the cute girls posing and being silly for the camera!

We came home and Maddie chose what we ate for dinner and then we ate cupcakes and ice cream and opened a few presents. She got her very own set of scriptures and a beautiful CTR ring among other things.

We love you so much Madeline! You are such a special girl and we are so grateful that you are a part of our family! You are such a wonderful helper and a second mom to all of your siblings always helping with diapers and bottles and playing with the younger kids. You are such a good friend and so considerate and kind and we just love you to pieces!! Happy Eighth Birthday Madeline!!
