Hurd Family Reunion at Bear Lake - Day 1

This year our Hurd Family Reunion was held up at Bear Lake and it was a lot of fun! We don't get to see our cousins and family on that side very often so it was a special treat. Grandpa Hurd is having a lot of health problems and wasn't sure if he'd make it to the Reunion but we are so glad he did since it will probably be his last one. He was so excited to be able to meet little Logan and I was thrilled to capture some great pictures of the two of them.

Not long after we arrived at our group site, Maddie and her cousin Lauren (Tara's daughter) found a stage and little amphitheater right by the bathrooms. They spent hours upon HOURS playing "Hannah Montana" on that stage. Singing loud enough for ALL of the neighboring campers to hear! Here's my little rock star:

While the girls were rockin' out on the stage, Peter got all the boys started on a fun game of baseball. We brought gloves and a ball but no bat, so they improvised and used one of the pieces to Sterling and Katie's "Kuub" set.

A few hours after setting up camp a MASSIVE wind storm swept through camp. Well I guess it didn't sweep through because that implies that it came and went... which it didn't! It lingered for a few days! It was the craziest wind I've ever seen! The tents all started caving in on themselves and we had to move them up against a little bank that would block the wind a little bit. This picture doesn't do it justice, it was pretty intense!

Emily was scared to death and Nathan too, he just cried and cried and clung to my leg as I held on to Logan's little bassinet for dear life so he didn't blow away! Here's cute little Logan totally oblivious to the chaos that surrounded him. Isn't he just adorable! I love his little smiles!

Someone brought up a wig and the boys got a kick out of it! Garrett wore it for the entire first day except when the girls snagged it for their Hannah Montana make believe. Here's Tyler and Garrett both modeling in it for us:

That night we wanted to stay up and play games or do a campfire and s'mores but it was just too windy. We were camped on grass and right next to a big field so a campfire was out and so instead we all huddled under the pavilion and tried to play games that didn't involve any cards or pieces or else they would blow away. Here's Katie and Sterling with little Nathan:

Here's sweet little Emily fast asleep in one of my favorite places - my Daddy's arms! (Isn't he such a handsome man? I love you Daddy!)
