The process of loosing a tooth

For Maddie who has been waiting for soooooo very long to loose her first tooth it was quite a dramatic experience! All of her friends at school have been loosing teeth since Kindergarten and she's felt very left behind! Poor thing wanted to loose a tooth so bad and would keep telling me that she thought she had a loose tooth, but it was a different one every time and I could never get the tooth budge at all. Last week she really DID have a loose tooth and it only took a few days before it was ready to come out. But then she was SUPER nervous about it so she didn't want to let us help it out and she wouldn't even eat food that made it hurt at all. Anyway, Sunday it started REALLY hurting her when she ate and she was just in tears about it. So we decided to encourage her to let us take it out for her. She was A LOT more apprehensive about it than Tyler ever was! But it was bleeding every time she ate and hurting so bad that we just had to get it out. The whole thing didn't take very long at all, but I'm sure to her it felt like a lifetime! Here is the step by step photo version of what happened:

Notice picture number 4 and how sweet Tyler was in holding her hand and talking to her and telling her it was okay and that it would stop hurting as soon as it was out. He was SO sweet to her! It deserves another picture:

And what's even sweeter is that it really did help in calming her down. I have the sweetest kids ever. Maddie I'm so proud of you for being so brave and loosing your first tooth! What a big girl you are!

Well just look at picture 10, all smiles. Jacob lost his 2nd tooth at school on Monday, he has a third loose and will only wiggle it at school because he wants to get another tooth necklace. My poor kids don't loose teeth until after their 7th birthday, which means they are 2nd graders. Poor little late bloomers.
